The Heavy is pretty brilliant. It brings back a time when music was fun, smart and true at the same time. Great Vengeance and Furious Fire is their debut album from Counter Records. Simply put: it is vintage sounding. It’s like you just uncovered your favorite soul/funk album from your basement. So you play the scratchy vinyl but those darn kids outside are blasting that darn hip/hop. The Heavy is that infusion of new and hip with the retro, classic and necessary beats and soul.
